Christophe Guinet builds wearable batman suit out of tree bark
\n<\/span>Also known as monsieur plant, appropriates botanical life of all category and classification in the creation of modified variations of familiar objects and ideas.\u00a0previously, designboom featured\u00a0guinet\u2019s\u00a0\u2018living\u2019\u00a0NIKE sneakers<\/a>\u00a0made from flowers and a\u00a0\u2018natural skateboard\u2019 made of tree bark<\/a>, both embodying his fascination and experimentation with organic materials as mediums for art-making.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The project sees the making of a wearable apparatus that combines fiction, fantasy and floral materials.<\/span><\/strong>
\nTogether with warner bros france<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the splendens factory<\/a>, the artist has designed\u00a0the iconic batman suit primarily out of\u00a0tree bark,\u00a0vegetal moss,\u00a0lichen and\u00a0fungus. a foam mold of the batman suit and helmet has been carefully wrapped and covered in layers of tree bark, forming the suit\u2019s distinctive pointed ears, opening for the mouth and nose, and defensive shoulder covering.\u00a0\u2018the bark of the tree is like the suit of the superheroes \u2014 a protective force,\u2019<\/em>\u00a0guinet says.\u00a0\u2018the foam strengthens the balance that exists between the symbiosis of nature and that of this mythical character.\u2019<\/em>
